While a remarkable and exciting process, building a business has its day-to-day challenges. One day you might wake up feeling overly enthused and ready to go above and beyond what needs to be accomplished, while other days you may feel nothing but exhaustion and the motivation may be difficult to find. The key to success? It’s all in your mind! “What you think about, you bring about.”
This may sound easier said than done, so here are five keys to helping create and sustain a positive state of mind for success:
#1 – YOUR SURROUNDINGS
Surround yourself with people who are positive and successful, or on the road to success. We are constantly interacting with others and progressing off of the energy we give to one another. Your mood and attitude can be so easily influenced by the people around you. Think about how much a simple smile from a complete stranger can affect your day. That energy is magnified a thousand times by the close proximity of positive and successful friends, family, and associates. When the people around you believe in you, inspire you, and want success for you just as much as their own success, there is no room for fear or doubt.
#2 – DAILY AFFIRMATIONS
Create an affirmation or a mantra for yourself. Remind and repeat yourself of this positivity several times a day. Studies have shown this action to help people get through the rough patches and truly believe what they are saying. Examples: “I am organized and in control.” – “I am building a powerful and profitable business.” – “I am on the right path to great success.”
#3 – SET GOALS & THEN LET ‘EM GO!
The law of attraction states that we attract what we focus on most. However, careful not to obsess and question your goals with fear and doubt. Desperation sends mixed signals of negativity into the universe, which doesn’t allow your goal to come to fruition the way you hope for it to. Setting goals with the proper steps and intentions to fulfill them is the first step. Once you have done this, you have done all that you can, so let them go. Keep your focus positive. All those who have had a little faith in themselves and the universe find out that the law of attraction is very powerful. What have you got to lose? Give it a try!
#4 – CAPTURE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS
Unfortunately, we all find ourselves thinking a few negative thoughts throughout the day. Any negative thought or emotion can derail us from our path, keeping us from achieving our desires. The trick is to catch them. It takes patience and persistence, but the outcome of consistently catching the negativity is grand! Find a trigger that will help you turn around any negative thought or emotion the instant you feel it surfacing. Affirmations are one way. Other ways include taking a deep breath, stepping outside for some fresh air, thinking of a pick-me-up like one of your favorite songs or vacation scenes, getting into an exercise routine that will help cleanse your mind and improve your mood.
#5 – BE GRATEFUL
Possibly the single most positive and powerful tool for success is gratitude. When you are sincerely grateful for all of the wonderful things, beings, experiences, and challenges in your life, you can only attract further greatness and in the meantime, what you are grateful for helps clarify what is significant over what is not. Consider keeping a journal of your gratitudes. List one or two things daily and in moments of frustration or challenge, glance back at some of the things you have listed to help re-align your perspective with positivity.
The success you desire is attainable. With the right attitude, a positive state of mind, and using powerful mind success strategies like those listed above, you will find yourself on the road to creating your ideal business and sustaining a satisfying, happy life.
